Vox Musica’s first compact disc, Christmas Colours, has been released and is available for purchase at R5 Records (16th and Broadway) and The Beat (17th and J) in Sacramento.  This recording brings you Christmas music from the 16th century to today, including nine outstanding pieces by composers from around the world. This CD features a sublime setting of the beloved petition to the Virgin Mary, Ave Maria by Venezuelan composer, César Alejandro Carrillo; two haunting works written by the twentieth-century British composer Sir John Tavener, A Nativity and The Lords Prayer; a settings of the liturgical text from the Missa Brevis by Canadian composer Nancy Telfer; and the premier recording of several traditional carols newly arranged for Vox Musica.
