Vox Musica presents the 1st Annual Vox Trot 5k Fun Run event, scheduled for Sunday, September 29, 2019. This event was created to announce the 14th season of Vox Musica, Sacramento’s premiere women’s vocal ensemble. In this out-of-the-box kickoff event, mixing the fun run scene with fine arts, Vox Musica is creating an opportunity for longtime patrons and supporters of Vox Musica and a new group of individuals to mix, learn more about our organization and have fun in the process. The event will start and finish at Vox Musica’s home, Beatnik Studios, located at 723 S Street in downtown Sacramento, California.

The NISENAN: A Cultural Music Project had such an impact on our community that we have been asked to perform it at the Crocker Art Museum as part of their WHEN I REMEMBER I SEE RED an American Indian Art and Activism Exhibition. The exhibition features contemporary art by First Californians and other American Indian artists with strong ties to the state such as Rick Bartow, George Blake, Dalbert Castro, Frank Day, Harry Fonseca, Frank LaPena, Jean LaMarr, James Luna, Leatrice Mikkelsen, Karen Noble [Tripp], Fritz Scholder, Brian Tripp, and Franklin Tuttle, as well as emerging and mid-career artists. Vox Musica will be presenting their NISENAN Music project as part of their show. Experience the stunning internationaly acclaimed Rimsky-Korsakov String Quartet in a special concert with Vox Musica. The quartet will present several beloved string quartet pieces and will accompany Vox Musica as they sing Swedish composer, Mårtin Jannson’s, Missa Popularis.
