Audition

Vox Musica welcomes auditions tapes, resumes, and inquiries about vocal positions year round. We look for singers with excellent sight-reading skills, and experience in choral singing. If you are interested in auditioning for Vox Musica outside our scheduled public auditions please e-mail us or submit a digital audition. Due to COVID-19 and moving back to face-to-face rehearsals and performances all auditioners must be vaccinated in order to be considered for our ensemble.

Public Auditions

Public auditions are held at the end of each season during the summer. We are looking for singers with excellent sight-reading skills and experience in choral singing. Details for the auditions are as follows:

STEP ONE: SUBMIT YOUR INQUIRY TO AUDITION:

To get a scheduled audition time contact Vox Musica (ASAP) with:
Contact Information & A Short Description of your Vocal/Music Experience.

STEP TWO: SCHEDULING YOUR AUDITION TIME:

Following your inquiry Vox Musica will contact you to schedule your audition time.
All interested candidates are required to be available for:
A twenty minute audition (Day One) & for call backs (Day Two).
Audition location will be disclosed at the time of scheduling.

STEP THREE: PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION:

At the the Audition one must bring a current resume and be prepared to:

  • Sing 16 bars of a prepared piece (bring 3 copies of the Music) (e.g., art-song, aria, or non-classical selection).
  • Sing Scales and arpeggios demonstrating vocal range.
  • Sight-read selected musical excerpts.
  • Rehearse with the ensemble on material for next season.

Submitting a Digital Audition

If submitting a Digital Audition, please mail or email:

  • A Current Resume
  • CD, cassette recording, or zipped mp3 audio files containing
  • One prepared piece (e.g., art-song, aria, or non-classical selection).
  • Sing scales and arpeggios demonstrating vocal range.
