Christmas Colours

Vox Musica’s first Compact Disc, Christmas Colours, was released in 2008. This recording brings you Christmas music from the 16th century to today, including nine outstanding pieces by composers from around the world. It features a sublime setting of the beloved petition to the Virgin Mary, Ave Maria by Venezuelan composer, César Alejandro Carrillo; two haunting works written by the twentieth-century British composer Sir John Tavener, A Nativity and The Lords Prayer; a settings of the liturgical text from the Missa Brevis by Canadian composer Nancy Telfer; and the premier recording of several traditional carols arranged for Vox Musica.
