Rachel Songer
Rachel is honored to be able to make music with Daniel Paulson and his amazing ensemble, Vox Musica, this season.. Rachel has been a working actor and singer in Sacramento for over 25 years, having appeared on stage, in films, commercials, training videos, and numerous voiceovers, with a BA in Theatre and Speech from Wagner College in NYC. Rachel Cantors at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Spirit Church. She has been a featured soloist with the Sacramento Choral Society and sung on a major feature film soundtrack recorded at Skywalker Ranch. Rachel is currently a Real Estate Agent with Windermere Signature Properties (formerly LYON) and earned their Rising Star award in 2021.

Allison Proffitt
SOPRANO
Allison is honored to be performing in her seventh season with Vox Musica. She joined her hometown children’s choir at age 8 and has sung in choirs ever since. Allison has performed with the Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento and the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera Chorus. She holds a B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis, where she sang in the Early Music Ensemble. Allison works at UC Davis Health conducting clinical research studies, and in her free time, she enjoys improvised partner dancing.

Mari Castaldi
SOPRANO
Mari is excited for her second season singing with Vox Musica. Mari is a lifelong singer and musician who has had the honor of singing with several outstanding choirs, including Schola Cantorum, the International Orange Chorale of San Francisco, the Chicago Chorale, the Oberlin College Choir, and the Santa Rosa High School Chamber Singers. For over 10 years, she has worked to advocate for public policies that help people meet their basic needs, including fighting for good-paying jobs and affordable housing. She holds a B.S. from Oberlin College and a Master’s in Public Affairs from Princeton University. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for and dining with her family and friends.

Laura Mclellan
SOPRANO
Laura is glad to have found community in Vox and is returning for her ninth season. Growing up in Boston, Laura was lucky to be raised under exceptional batons, performing with the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops Orchestras through her children’s choir, Voices Boston, as well as playing violin with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Laura holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Brown University and is working to create a sustainable water future for all Californians at the State Water Resources Control Board.

Evelyn White
SOPRANO
Evelyn is enthused to enter her first season with Vox Musica. She began singing in churches as a child, performed in every school and community musical she could throughout high school, and spent several years studying theatre and opera as a Vocal Performance major at the University of Northern Colorado. After a break from music to complete her B.A. in Psychology, she is now looking forward to learning from her fellow ensemble members and contributing to the voice of Vox. Aside from her musical commitments, she spends her time assisting psychotherapy research efforts in San Francisco, bartending in downtown Sacramento, and spending quality time with her husband and four (!) loving cats.

Ellen Wirth-Foster
SOPRANO
Ellen is thrilled to be starting her first season with Vox Musica. Originally from Santa Barbara, she holds a B.A. in English & French Literature from UCSB. Her musical journey began with classical violin lessons at the tender age of 2, and she followed her love of music by discovering old-time fiddle with the Glendessary Jam, flamenco guitar with George Quirin, and choral music with the Santa Barbara High School Madrigals under the direction of Philip McLendon. Ellen also sang early music, masses, and madrigals, with a private group for many years, before moving to Sacramento in 2024.

Rhiannon Power
ALTO
Rhiannon is thrilled to be joining Vox Musica for the first time this season. A lifelong lover of singing and performance, she is excited to share her passion for music with you. She has previously performed with the Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento and in numerous productions at American River College, where she is currently studying music. At ARC, she sang in the Concert Choir for a year and appeared in several stage plays, including her favorite roles: The Bird in Anon(ymous) and Murderer #2 in Macbeth. When she isn’t performing, Rhiannon can be found immersed in fiction—often finishing entire novels in a single day.

Ha-Mill McLearan
ALTO
Ha-Mill began her musical journey at the age of five with violin lessons, later shifting to voice in high school through musicals and choir. She sang with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus before pausing to focus on graduate school, residency, and family life. After a 15-year break, she returned to the stage in Sweeney Todd with The Actors Stage and performed with the Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento. Outside of music, she’s a double board-certified pharmacist in pediatrics and oncology and now serves as Pharmacy Supervisor at UC Davis Health Folsom Infusion Center. She balances a busy career with life as a proud mother of two, a supportive wife, and now, a first-season performer with Vox Musica.

Ema Gluckmann
ALTO
Ema is excited to be starting her eleventh season singing with Vox! In college, at UC Davis, she sang with the University Chorus. Many years later, she sang with the UCD alumni choir. Ema has sung with various local choirs and has even performed in regional musical theater productions. Her primary choral experience has been with the Congregation B’nai Israel Choir for over 40 years. Ema is continuing to enjoy retirement after teaching high school chemistry for 35 years, but has also been dabbling in substitute teaching. Ema and her husband are the proud parents of two adorable rescue dogs, who provide them with much love and affection. She also exercises regularly, knits and crochets, plays MahJong, is learning Hebrew, and continues to love singing!

Yvette Chanel Couvson
ALTO
Yvette Chanel is a polymathic artist from San Francisco, CA, who began her musical journey with the piano at the age of nine. She continued her passion for music by studying the cello at the age of twelve and joining every school choir within her reach up until college.
In 2021, Yvette Chanel took on the vocal role of Second Lady in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” presented by SF’s Pocket Opera, which was released in 2025. She also began her pursuit of knowledge in audio engineering by attending CRAS in 2023 and continues to hone her artistic skills.

Anna Larsen
ALTO
Anna began singing as a child and insisted on doing so, regardless of the setting. Memorable early performances include the time she belted out “A Chorus Line” during her first dance recital, while the rest of the toddlers focused on their dance moves. Anna spent her early years singing in choirs, studying voice, dancing, and generally being a theater kid. She studied voice in college and grad school, performing opera roles and studying with many excellent teachers and coaches. She lives with her three children and works with small farms to help them grow.

Jennifer Crawford
ALTO
Jennifer is honored to be in her nineteenth season with Vox Musica. Her musical upbringing includes singing in church, school, and community choirs, as well as playing flute, oboe, and piano in concert bands, jazz ensembles, and woodwind quartets throughout her school career. When not singing, Jennifer can be found writing computer code, wading through slush for a speculative fiction webzine, bottle-feeding foster kittens, baking, or knitting.
